After beating Texas A&M last week, the Florida Gators rose in the latest CBS Sports rankings of all FBS teams. They are currently the No. 36 team in the nation and the No. 8 team in the SEC. They are six spots ahead of South Carolina, their opponent this weekend.
The Gators rose six spots from last week’s No. 42 position. After a difficult week for the Florida program that saw them miss out on top 2023 prospect [autotag]Cormani McClain[/autotag] and the loss to Georgia, the Gators bounced back in their victory over Texas A&M. The second half was great for the Gators, with the defense tightening up and making adjustments and the offense continuing to find it’s stride. The 41-24 scoreline gave the Orange and Blue some positive momentum heading into the last home game of the season.
That home finale will be Saturday against South Carolina. The Gamecocks come into the matchup 6-3, with a road win over Kentucky, a team the Gators lost to in their SEC opener back in Week 2. They are led by quarterback Spencer Rattler, an Oklahoma transfer that has thrown for over 1,800 yards and eight TDs this season.
That game will be played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
