Florida remains outside AP Top 25 Poll after defeat to Georgia

The Florida Gators remain outside the AP Poll after Week 9 after losing to the Georgia Bulldogs, their 5th loss in their last six matchups.

The Florida Gators remain outside the AP Poll Top 25 after Saturday’s 42-20 defeat to Georgia. The loss is the Gators’ fifth in their last six matchups against the Bulldogs. The Gators did not receive votes in the latest poll.

The Orange and Blue started the season unranked but jumped to No. 12 after beating then No. 7 Utah Utes in a thrilling 29-26 victory in [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag]’s first game as Florida head coach. They dropped to No. 18 after losing to Kentucky in their SEC opener 26-16. They then fell to No. 20 after a disappointing win against USF. A loss to Tennessee the following week dropped them out of the Top 25. They have been unranked ever since.

Other notable AP rankings include Georgia remaining at No. 1, Kansas State jumping nine spots to No. 13, Wake Forest dropping ten spots to No. 20, and UCF entering the poll at No. 25 after their narrow victory over Cincinnati.

Most notably, the AP voters decided to put both Ohio State and Tennessee at No. 2, setting up a No. 1 vs No. 2 showdown between Georgia and Tennessee next week.

Florida will head to College Station next week to take on Texas A&M in an interdivisional SEC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for noon EDT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
