Florida leads Tennessee at halftime

Recapping the first half of Tennessee-Florida game.

Due to its defense, the Tennessee football team has done enough in the first half to hang around against Florida, a top 10 opponent.

Freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey, is making his first career start, and is having a solid outing.

The Volunteers trail Florida, 17-7, at halftime.

The Vols’ defense has kept one of Florida’s biggest offensive weapons in check during the first half, holding tight end Kyle Pitts to 30 yards on two receptions. He has been targeted four times.

Bailey is 8-of-12 for 71 yards and has a touchdown pass to running back Eric Gray.

Gators’ quarterback Kyle Trask has a pair of touchdown passes. One went to Trevon Grimes, who had three receptions in the first half.

The other went to Kadarius Toney from two yards out late in the first half after the Vols were flagged for pass interference in the end zone.

Tennessee had a 7-3 lead before the Gators scored 14 unanswered points.

Florida gets the ball to open the second half.
