The No. 8 Florida lacrosse team laid a 19-4 beatdown on the Temple Owls in the 2021 American Athletic Conference Tournament to claim its seventh-consecutive tournament championship and eighth overall on Saturday at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. It also won the AAC’s regular-season title — the eighth time they have won both the regular-season and tournament titles.
The win was the squad’s 13th-straight and improved its overall season record to 16-2 heading into the NCAA Tournament. The Gators also went unbeaten during AAC play, notching a perfect 10-0 record this spring after the conclusion of the tournament.

Florida held Temple to its lowest scoring output this season in the championship match thanks to some tenacious defense. On offense, UF exploded behind superlative performances by Brianna Harris and Shannon Kavanagh, both of whom posted six goals for double hat tricks. Harris’ six bested her previous career mark of five in a game, which she has achieved twice.
The Gators now await the NCAA Tournament Selection Show to determine their postseason destination. The combined women’s and men’s selection show is slated for Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT and will air on ESPNU.
