(This story was updated to add new information on injury status of several players)
While no SEC Availability Report is required for non-conference games, Florida Gators fans can expect the team to be without several key players against the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday.
Florida has six players out for the season with significant injuries (listed below) and several other starters haven’t played in several weeks.
Defensive backs Ja’Keem Jackson, Devin Moore and Asa Turner are all dealing with injuries. Turner, who started at safety against Miami, hasn’t played since his Week 1 injury, and Jackson, the Gators’ No. 3 cornerback to start the year, has been sidelined since Week 2. Devin Moore, Florida’s No. 2 cornerback, went down against Georgia and hasn’t played since.
Inside linebacker Grayson Howard has missed the past two games for Florida with an ankle injury and didn’t practice Wednesday. Billy Napier described him as “to be determined” for the Florida State game earlier this week.
Starting right guard Damieon George is also questionable for the rivalry game, but Napier seemed more optimistic that he would play when providing an update on Wednesday.
“I think there’s a chance that he’ll be available,” Napier said.
UPDATE (6:36 p.m.): Florida will be without George, who was spotted in a walking boot during warmups. Grayson Howard, Roderick Kearney and Devon Manuel are also out.
The offensive line is also likely to be without tackle Devon Manuel, who hasn’t played since Week 4, and interior lineman Roderick Kearney, who last played against Texas in a blowout loss.
Gators Wire will update this list throughout the day as players warm up and availability becomes more clear.
