Florida inches back up KenPom’s rankings after Georgia win

Florida’s adjusted defensive metrics finally ended its free-fall against the ‘Dawgs Tuesday night.

Florida basketball got back on the winning track on Tuesday night with a 77-67 win over the Georgia Bulldogs on the road in the penultimate regular-season game for the Gators. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak and was only the third in February following the upset of the Tennessee Volunteers to open the month along with a win over the Ole Miss Rebels halfway through.

[autotag]Todd Golden[/autotag]’s gang entered the intra-conference affair ranked No. 64 in the Pomeroy College Basketball Rankings and emerged two spots higher at No. 62 after the win. The Orange and Blue’s adjusted offense remained at No. 120 overall while adjusted defense measures finally finished its free-fall, rising three spots from our previous update to No. 29.

Next up for Florida is their final regular-season opponent, the LSU Tigers, who they host inside the O’Connell Center on Saturday, March 4. LSU is currently ranked No. 150 in KenPom while holding the bottom spot in the SEC standings. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST and the game can be watched on the SEC Network or heard on the Gator Sports Network.
