Florida hosting 2024 safety for multi-day visit in April

After picking up an offer during his January trip to the Swamp, this 2024 defensive back is returning in April for an extended stay.

One of the top rising prospects in the recruiting class of 2024 is Clearwater Academy International safety [autotag]Isaiah Thomas[/autotag], who is originally from Toronto, Canada.

In addition to Florida, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State Indiana, Maryland, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri, NC State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Penn State and UCF have all offered in the new year. His offer sheet is only growing as the year continues, but Florida might be standing out early.

Thomas visited the Swamp in January for one of the team’s Junior Days, which is when the Gators presented him with an offer, and Swamp247 reported that he will be back in town for another visit during the first week of April. It will be a multi-day visit that lasts from April 6-8, giving him a chance to see everything the school and program have to offer.

One hurdle Florida will have to overcome is the loss of safeties coach Patrick Toney, who was a key recruiter for Thomas. There are no hard feelings between Thomas and Toney, though. He’s optimistic about the team’s outlook moving forward.

“I love coach Toney and I am very happy for him,” Thomas said to 247Sports. “For me, I got off the phone with coach CJ Williams and my opinion is that nothing will change. The new DC will incorporate the same system and they still have their amazing support staff.”

Thomas isn’t yet ranked by any of the four major services, so it’s hard to say where he stands compared to other defensive backs in the class. He wants to take official visits over the summer and wrap things up before his senior year, though, so things are going to move quickly with him regardless of a star rating.
