The Associated Press released its latest rankings for the 2020 college football season on Sunday after the completion of Week 3 of play with not many major changes at the top of the poll.

Interestingly, despite the declared return of the Big Ten to fall competition, its member schools remained omitted from the rankings this week, while the Southeastern Conference continued to rule the realm. Three SEC schools made it into the top-5, with the Alabama Crimson Tide coming in at No. 2 just behind the top-ranked Clemson Tigers, while the Oklahoma Sooners grabbed the third spot, leaving the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators to round out the top of the poll.

The LSU Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas Longhorns, Auburn Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies finish off the top-10, giving the SEC six of the 10 best teams in the land — Big Ten and Pac-12 teams notwithstanding. The remainder of the league’s teams in the poll are the Tennessee Volunteers at No. 16 and the Kentucky Wildcats at No. 23.
