Florida football stands pat in 247Sports’ weekly SEC rankings

Not much movement for Billy Napier’s squad ahead of their colossal Week 9 matchup.

The biggest weekend of the year for the Florida football program is coming up as the Gators travel to Jacksonville for a neutral-field matchup against the hated Georgia Bulldogs. Both teams had a bye last week, giving the two teams plenty of time to prepare for the grueling gridiron grind.

This week, after getting that breather the Orange and Blue saw no improvement in 247Sports’ SEC rankings, remaining at No. 7 after the dust settled in Week 8. The Red and Black remained in the top spot with a unanimous collection of votes.

Just ahead of Florida are the Tennessee Volunteers — who fell at the Swamp back in Week 3 — at No. 6 while the Texas A&M Aggies lag right behind at No. 8. The Kentucky Wildcats, who beat the Gators in Week 5 at Kroger Field, came in at No. 9.

The Gators’ annual rivalry game the Bulldogs will take place at TIAA Bank Field on Saturday, Oct. 28, with a kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. EDT set. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports.
