Florida football OL Christian Williams entering transfer portal

Christian Williams is the ninth player to enter the transfer portal for the Gators.

Christian Williams, a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman for Florida football, has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal.

Williams made his intentions known on Thursday via social media that he plans to enter start a new phase in his collegiate career, but expressed deep gratitude towards his coaches and the Gator community.

“To Coach (Billy) Napier, Coach (Darnell) Stapleton, Coach (Rob) Sale, and everyone in the organization who gave me the incredible opportunity to attend such a prestigious university, thank you,” Williams stated in his post on social media. “I am forever grateful for the brothers and family I’ve gained during my time here, and the memories we’ve created will stay with me forever.”

Williams continued, “Thank you, Gator Nation, for your unwavering support and for showing me a side of football I had never experienced before. With that said, after much consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.”

Williams appeared in two games this season, totaling eight offensive snaps and earned a pass block grade of 72.0 according to Pro Football Focus.

Williams is the ninth Gator to announce his intent to enter the transfer portal.

Edge defenders Justus Boone, Bryce Capers (walk-on), Kelby Collins and Quincy Ivory (JUCO transfer, 2023), wide receiver Andy Jean, cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson and walk-on Safety Ahman Covington are all leaving the program as well.
