Florida’s dominant win over Kentucky moved the Gators into a share of 11th place on the 247Sports SEC Power Poll, but an idle week has the Orange and Blue down a spot to No. 12 following Week 9 action.
The drop has more to do with Arkansas’ 58 points against Mississippi State, which broke the tie, but a strong performance against Georgia in Week 10 could bring things right back to where they were.
The top seven saw very little change. Only Texas A&M and LSU swapped places following the Aggies’ 15-point victory. Alabama stayed put at No. 6 despite shutting out Missouri, 34-0, and knocking the Tigers down a spot to No. 9 on the poll. As a result, Vanderbilt moved into the top half of the conference. The Commodores came up a field goal short of Texas.
Florida has only lost two SEC games this year, one to now-No. 3 TAMU and another to No. 4 Tennessee. Its next four matchups are against No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Texas, No. 5 LSU and No. 7 Ole Miss.
On the other hand, Florida’s two SEC wins have come against the two bottom-dwellers of this week’s poll — No. 15 Kentucky and No. 16 Mississippi State.
