It is a day closer to Florida football’s penultimate regular-season matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville, Tennessee, as the two teams prepare for their upcoming gridiron battle. With all of their home games on the schedule now crossed out, the Gators will remain on the road for their final two games.
Both teams won their Week 11 battles, as the Orange and Blue manhandled the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Swamp while Vandy snapped a 26-game losing streak in Southeastern Conference play in a major road upset of the Kentucky Wildcats. That momentum should help both squads, but the Gators certainly hold the upper hand entering the weekend.
Florida has dominated the all-time series with a 43-10-2 record dating back to 1945. Interestingly, Vanderbilt won the first three games and held the series lead until 1962, when the Gators took the lead for good at seven games to six. The Commodores’ last win came back in 2013 when they snapped a 22-game losing streak in the Swamp, spoiling Florida’s homecoming game.
