Five-star USC EDGE backs out of commitment

Could UCLA make a run?

Five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson shocked everyone after he changed his mind and de-committed from USC on Tuesday, per a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3. Gibson was at one time a target for UCLA and even received an offer from the Bruins, so it’s at least a bit interesting to see him on the open market again.

Gibson is a five-star recruit in the Class of 2025 and had been committed to the Trojans since March. Lately, rumors have swirled about him going to either Auburn, Tennessee, or Georgia, per Chad Simmons of On3.

“Gibson is committed to USC, but he looks like he will be tough for Lincoln Riley to keep in this class. He is at Auburn the first part of this week, but Georgia continues to have some buzz around it as the biggest threat to the Trojans. Tennessee is another one to keep an eye on. He visits Knoxville on June 14. Ohio State and Oklahoma are two others on his list. This could still go a few different ways.”

UCLA was initially on the radar for Gibson, and perhaps they get back in the running now. But, the latest signs sure suggest he stays close to home.
