Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are still building their future recruiting classes, trying to land some big recruits for the program.
As they attempt to finish out their 2025 class on a positive note, getting a 2026 commitment is the next priority. And one player the Tar Heels are pursuing is five-star power forward Miikka Muurinen. The Finnish prospect currently plays at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona and is drawing a lot of interest from big programs.
Now, he’s getting ready to take some visits in his recruitment during the college basketball season and has blue blood programs on his list.
2026 5⭐️ Miikka Muurinen has had a solid start to his junior season at AZ Compass Prep.
Muurinen told @LeagueRDY he’s looking to visit Duke, North Carolina and Kentucky at some point during the college basketball season.

Per 247HSHoops, he will be looking to get to UNC, Duke, and Kentucky games this season. All three are involved in his recruitment early on providing some tough competition.
For North Carolina, it’s good news that he plans on visiting at some point, allowing him to get on campus and around the team. But this is a big recruitment and the competition is tough as mentioned above.
The 6-foot-10, 185-pound Muurinen is ranked No. 6 nationally, the No. 1 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of Arizona per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
