Five-star recruit talks about visiting UNC’s campus

A five-star shooting guard in the 2025 class talks about his trip to see the UNC basketball program.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are in pursuit of a few different prospects in the 2025 class. With a three-man class in 2023 and then another three-man class in 2024, Hubert Davis and his staff are hoping to replicate the success with that 2025 class.

One of the players with an offer from UNC is five-star shooting guard Isiah Harwell. The Mount Pleasant, Utah native is top 5 recruit via 247Sports and the No. 1 shooting guard.

At the USA Basketball U16 team tryouts, Harwell talked to Eric Bossi of 247Sports about the campuses he’s been on so far, including UNC. Here is what he had to say about the program:

North Carolina: “All of the guys that have played there, Michael Jordan played there. It’s crazy that when you walk into the gym and see all the jerseys it is like this is really where Jordan played. It doesn’t even seem real when you walk in there. Coach Davis mostly said to me that he wants me to play right away when I get there and give big minutes and not just be stuck in one position so I can play multiple positions.”

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Harwell is taking his time with his recruitment as he has 19 offers. A decision isn’t coming soon and he’s going to take more visits as the recruitment goes on.
