This past weekend was an eventful one on the campus of the University of North Carolina.
The football team kicked off the weekend with a big win over rival Duke on Saturday night, doing it in thrilling fashion. Then hours later, the basketball team moved to 2-0 on the year with a win over Lehigh.
For Hubert Davis and his program, they also hosted a big-time recruiting target in five-star Koa Peat. But he wasn’t the only one that was supposed to be there for his official. Along with Peat, five-star forward Caleb Wilson was also supposed to be in attendance. But he and his family had to cancel the visit to give him a chance to recharge and reset for his junior season.
Here is what Caleb’s father Jerry told Adam Zagoria of Zag’s Blog:
“As for UNC I had to cancel the UNC visit to give Caleb a chance to rest and recharge,” his dad said. “It’s time to start the season for us, so we’re locked in on the process. He had a scrimmage last week and played well with 34 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists.”
Wilson is a top prospect that is gaining a lot of interest from several big time programs. He did take a trip to Georgia Tech recently and will visit Duke as well.
As for a visit to UNC, it’s possible he reschedules the visit for later on in the year or in 2024.
