Five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks is one of the most sought after prospects in the 2022 recruiting class.
Schools such as Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama and numerous other Power Five programs have clamored for his services, but after his recent decommitment from Oregon, it now appears to be a two-horse race between the Longhorns and Aggies.
The 247Sports composite has Banks rated No. 2 among offensive tackle prospect in the country and No. 5 overall player in the state of Texas. If Banks chooses Texas, he would become the highest graded player in its 2022 recruiting class.
After an in-home visit with head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff on Friday evening, Banks tweeted that he would be making an announcement at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday. It has not been confirmed whether it will be a commitment or top schools announcement, but it’s certainly one to keep an eye on.

Sarkisian and Kyle Flood have made Banks a top priority throughout the 2022 cycle as Texas needs help on the offensive line in a major way. If he were to announce his commitment on Saturday, it would be the first big domino to fall on an important recruiting weekend.
Texas is hosting former five-star quarterback and the No. 1 rated signal-caller in the country, Quinn Ewers, on Saturday. Several other 2022 commits and targets are expected to be present as well.
