The No. 1 player in the state of Texas has set a commitment date.
Five-star defensive lineman David Hicks will announce his college decision on Sept. 28. The Katy product has a top seven of Alabama, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M.
Pretty much any school in the nation would love to add Hicks to its 2023 recruiting class. He is listed as the No. 1 defensive lineman and the No. 12 overall player in the country in the 247Sports composite.
Hicks comes in at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds with excellent footwork and explosion off the line of scrimmage. He possesses the high motor needed to be a star defensive lineman at the collegiate level. Hicks is truly a do-it-all athlete, he plays basketball along with putting the shot and throwing the discus in track and field.
Oklahoma is the favorite to land Hicks. The Sooners hold four crystal ball projections in their favor for the five-star.
