Five-star 2025 recruit likely to visit UNC basketball program

A five-star UNC Basketball recruiting target is working on a visit to the program.

As North Carolina holds the No. 1 class in the 2024 basketball recruiting cycle, Hubert Davis and his staff are looking to build on that with a good 2025 class as well.

While the Tar Heels don’t have a commitment in the 2025 class just yet, they do have offers out and an early recruiting board. The Tar Heels have offered seven players in the class as they are in pursuit of adding some talent.

And they will have the chance to impress some of those players with visits.

Among the players that have offers is five-star shooting guard Darryn Peterson, a Cuyahoga Falls that plays at Huntington Prep. He has a total of 18 offers in his recruitment including from some big-name programs. And now, it appears as if Peterson is ready for visits.

The recruit talked to Travis Graf of MadeHoops and revealed that a visit to North Carolina is in the works:

Peterson will visit Ohio State on October 21 and in addition to UNC, a visit to Kentucky is in the works as well.

The recruit is ranked No. 2 overall, the No. 1 shooting guard and No. 1 player in the state of Ohio per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
