After the madness of the transfer portal has come to a halt somewhat, the UNC basketball program has a clearer picture of the roster for the 2023-24 season.
North Carolina lost seven players to the portal while adding four more. As it stands now, they gave room to add three more players. There are rumors that the Tar Heels could add 2024 five-star commit cWATCH: Highlights of UNC commit Elliot Cadeau as a reclassification but he may not be the only one. Fellow 2024 five-star recruit Jarin Stevenson is a big UNC target and like Cadeau, he could also reclassify and join a program early. And a decision is close to being made.
In an interview with Jaylen Harrell of 247Sports, Stevenson talked about where his recruitment stands and the decision ahead. He revealed that he will be making a decision in the coming weeks:
What’s your timeline for deciding on reclassification and deciding on your school?
By the end of the school year I’ll probably make a decision, which is June 9. That’s the end of my school year, so that’s the timeline right now.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound Stevenson is a Pittsboro, North Carolina native that is ranked No.12 nationally, the No. 1 power forward and No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
He has a total of 7 offers and has taken multiple visits including to UNC, Virginia, Georgetown, and Missouri.
