The second evaluation period of the Summer is here for the AAU circuit as coaches will be watching several top prospects here in the coming days including the premier event on the calendar with the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.
UNC will be well represented on the road as Hubert Davis and his staff will be out evaluating. And one player they have high on their list is 2024 forward [autotag]Jarin Stevenson[/autotag].
The in-state recruit is one of a few players that has an offer from UNC in the 2024 class and it’s safe to say he is a priority for them. Early on at the Peach Jam, Stevenson has caught the eye of national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi who had this to say about him:
Speaking of Team United, probably their best long-term prospect is 6-foot-9 power forward Jarin Stevenson. His No. 17 national ranking in the class of 2024 is more about who he can be a few years down the road than where he is today but don’t get me wrong, he’s already a pretty good player. He’s long, he’s lean, he can really run and he’s very agile in the lane. He’s going to build his face up game down the road but the times he was active around the rim he was tough to deal with while scoring 14 points. As he learns to mix unleashing his inner dog with expanding his faceup game, he’s got the tools to be very problematic for opposing defenders.
Stevenson has a total of 3 offers so far, landing them from UNC, NC State, and Wake Forest. However, he does have other programs showing interest in him such as Florida State and Virginia.
This is a recruitment we will want to keep our eye on and if Stevenson continues his play moving forward, he should even see an increase in his ranking as well.
