Five USC athletes land in top 100 of NIL value list

If you said Bronny James and Caleb Williams are top-tier NIL athletes in terms of estimated worth, you’re right!

AS you know, “NIL” stands for name, image, and likeness. Prior to a Supreme Court case in 2021, NCAA athletes were not allowed to earn money promoting their name, image or likeness due to NCAA rules, but the court ruled that those regulations were unconstitutional.

House of Victory is the main NIL brand for the Trojans. HOV is a nonprofit, alumni-led, board-operated NIL collective designed to give USC student athletes NIL opportunities.

When considering the resources of collectives, the abilities of the supported athletes, and the followings these college stars have on their social media accounts, several USC athletes stand above others. Trojan quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Malachi Nelson, wide receiver Zachariah Branch, and Trojan basketball freshmen superstars Isaiah Collier and Bronny James are top-100 college athletes in terms of NIL value, according to On3.

On3 updates rankings weekly. Its valuations are determined by an algorithm that factors in athlete performance while also accounting for their opponents’ rankings; social media following and influence; and overall exposure. Players at bigger programs with more fans, and players playing more important positions, will have a higher level of exposure and an accordingly higher value estimate.

Bronny James ranks No. 1 among all college athletes with an NIL value estimated at $6.1 million.

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, comes in with a valuation of $2.6 million.

LSU gymnast Olivia “Livvy” Dunne came in second behind Bronny at $3.3 million. Dunne has a massive social media following of 11 million, but Bronny still tops her with 13 million total followers.
