Mike Mickens played under Brian Kelly at Cincinnati as Mickens was there 2005-08. Kelly didn’t start with the Bearcats until after the 2005 regular season but Mickens was a key player in Cincinnati’s turnaround under Kelly as he was a second team All-American his junior year, a year that Cincinnati won 10 games for the first time in program history.
Mickens suffered a knee injury late in his senior season that derailed his career.
