Fitness with Averee: Duck walks for distance

Averee Dovsek of Golfweek demonstrates duck walks and explains how they help with hip stability in the golf swing.

Hip stability is very important when it comes to the golf swing. It prevents looseness in the hips during your rotation. Looseness in the hips can lead to topping the golf ball at impact.

Joint mobility and stabilization are key components in executing a proficient golf swing.

In the ninth episode of “Fitness with Averee,” Averee Dovsek demonstrates how to do duck walks using a resistance band. This exercise is great for stability in the hips and strength in the gluteus medius.

Combine what you learn through “Fitness with Averee” with Steve Scott’s instruction series and you will be a different golfer on and off the course.
