Viktor Hovland is one of the up-and-coming young stars on the PGA Tour and on Sunday he got his first victory in style by sinking a long birdie putt on the 18th hole to win by a stroke in Puerto Rico.
The victory was a historic one for Hovland, as the 22 year old became the first player from Norway to win on the PGA Tour.
Hovland ran into some trouble during his final round and then had a good laugh about it in a very honest post-round interview on the 18th green. He had a 3-stroke lead when a few bad chip shots led to a triple bogey on the par-3 11th hole.
He regrouped and won and then had this to say about those bad chips: “I just suck at chipping!”

Fans loved his honesty:
Hovland: "I just suck at chipping. I definitely needed work on my short game and I was 100 percent exposed there. I can get away with it sometimes but over 72 holes I really need to tighten that up."
Easier to talk about after a W but love the direct answer.

And those post-round interviews—Teater choking back tears after losing, Hovland explaining his triple-bogey with a succinct “I suck at chipping” 😂 …. Awesome stuff, all of it. LOVE these “opposite” events. A reminder that some of golf’s best storylines are not in the top 50.

Hope Hovland keeps living in Stillwater and doesn’t get corrupted by Juplife, dude is a breath of fresh air
