The No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) take a trip to the West Coast to visit the USC Trojans (3-2, 1-2) Saturday. Kickoff from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Penn State vs. USC odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

Penn State hits the road after 4 consecutive home games. The Nittany Lions beat the UCLA Bruins 27-11 Saturday but failed to cover as 29.5-point favorites. QB Drew Allar completed 17 of his 24 passes for 237 yards with a TD and no picks. He added a rushing touchdown, too. The Nittany Lions have allowed just 18 points over their last 3 games, which included a 56-0 shutout of Kent State Sept. 21.

USC was upset 24-17 by the Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday in Minneapolis as a 9.5-point favorite. USC led 17-10 midway in the 3rd quarter, but Minnesota scored 2 TDs in the 4th, including a game-winning 1-yard run with 56 seconds remaining to cap a 12-play, 75-yard drive. The Trojans edged the Gophers 373-362 in total yards, but 3 turnovers to Minnesota’s 1 was too much to overcome.

The Trojans, who were No. 15, fell out of the US LBM Coaches Poll when the new poll was released Sunday. Poll conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.
