The Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 last season and then proceeded to lose 15 consecutive games. As such, they secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and selected QB Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson. He starts Sunday.
The last time the Jags were favored was Week 3 last season against the Miami Dolphins in a Thursday game at home, and the last time they were favorites on the road was Week 7 of the 2019 season against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Texans finished last season on a five-game losing skid, and QB Deshaun Watson wanted out of town. During the offseason, off-field allegations arose, and Watson has been benched for Week 1 by new head coach David Culley. Veteran QB Tyrod Taylor will start the opener, and Watson will be inactive.

Jaguars at Texans head-to-head
The Texans beat the Jaguars 30-14 at home in Week 5 last season, and again in Week 9 on the road, 27-25. The Texans covered at home, and hit the Under, while the Jaguars covered at home, and hit the Over.
Houston has won three straight at home against Jacksonville, while going 2-1 ATS. The Under cashed in each of the past four meetings at NRG Stadium.
