Broncos vs. Chiefs head-to-head
The Chiefs lead the all-time series over the Broncos 70-55 in a rivalry that dates back to 1960. Kansas City upped its win streak over Denver to 14 games in Week 14, beating the Broncos 34-28. Denver has not defeated Kansas City since September 2015 with Peyton Manning as its QB.
The Chiefs have covered the spread in 6 of their last 10 matchups against the Broncos. The Chiefs did not cover the 8.5-point spread against the Broncos earlier this season. In fact, the Chiefs were in danger of losing that game after going up ahead 27-0 in the 2nd quarter — the Chiefs allowed 3 straight Broncos TDs, but managed to hang on to the lead for the duration of the game.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been successful against the Broncos since his first NFL start against them in 2017. In 10 games Mahomes has averaged 263 passing yards per game with 15 passing TDs, 7 INTs and 2 rushing TDs. Three of those INTs came during the Chiefs’ win over the Broncos earlier this season.
Wilson has seen some success against the Chiefs in his career as well. He’s 1-2 overall against K.C. (1-1 with the Seahawks and 0-1 with the Broncos) but has 8 TDs to just 1 INT in those games.
