First look: Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams odds and lines, LA is big home favorite

Looking at Sunday Night Football’s Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams Week 1 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams will kick off their seasons at SoFi Stadium this week, squaring off on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff in Inglewood, Calif., will be at 8:20 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bears vs. Rams odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Bears open the season on the road against a team that could contend for a Super Bowl in the same building come February. After an 8-8 season in 2020, the Bears have two new quarterbacks in Andy Dalton and rookie Justin Fields, though it’ll be the former starting against Los Angeles.

The defense still boasts OLB Khalil Mack, DT Akiem Hicks and LB Roquan Smith, but it’s the offense that faces several questions.

The Rams also have a new quarterback in Matthew Stafford, who came over in a trade with the Detroit Lions. RB Cam Akers is out for the year, which has RB Darrell Henderson Jr. taking over as the lead back alongside RB Sony Michel. On defense, it all starts with All-Pro DT Aaron Donald and CB Jalen Ramsey.

Bears at Rams head-to-head

The Rams and Bears have squared off three times since 2018 and not one of those matchups was particularly close. In 2018, the Bears stunned the Rams 15-6 in Chicago, which was one of the worst games of head coach Sean McVay’s tenure in Los Angeles.

The following two years, the Rams avenged that loss with two double-digit victories over Chicago. They won 17-7 in 2019 and 24-10 last season, both of which were at home for Los Angeles. The winner covered the spread each time and the Under connected in all three games.

All-time, the Bears are 54-38-3 against the Rams, including a recent stretch of 6-3 in the last nine meetings.
