The Los Angeles Rams have the opportunity to open the 2022 NFL season at home in the first game of the year as the defending Super Bowl champions. They’ll host the Buffalo Bills, the Super Bowl favorites, on Thursday, Sept. 8 at SoFi Stadium for the season opener. Kickoff will be at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). The Bills have the best Super Bowl odds in the NFL entering Week 1, coming in at +550. That’s slightly ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700) and considerably better than the team with the third-best odds, the Green Bay Packers (+1000).
Buffalo won 11 games last season and made it to the divisional round of the playoffs before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime after blowing a late lead. The Bills return QB Josh Allen and WR Stefon Diggs and added OLB Von Miller in free agency this offseason.

The Rams had a remarkable first season with QB Matthew Stafford under center, going 12-5 during the regular season and going on to win Super Bowl LVI. Though they did lose players such as LT Andrew Whitworth (retirement), CB Darious Williams (free agency) and Miller (free agency), the Rams added WR Allen Robinson and LB Bobby Wagner. Not to mention, they still have WR Cooper Kupp, CB Jalen Ramsey and DT Aaron Donald on the roster.

Being in separate conferences, the Bills and Rams don’t play each other often. They squared off every 4 years from 2004-2020, but they’ll now go just 2 years since their last meeting.
The most recent matchup came on Sept. 27, 2020, when the Rams visited the Bills in Buffalo. The Bills won that game, 35-32, thanks to a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Allen with only 15 seconds left.
