With the entire team checked in for training camp, the 49ers’ rookies got a chance to suit up in their 49ers uniforms for the first time. The circumstances of this offseason haven’t allowed players into the building where they’d be able to try on their new colors.
Photoshop experts online have edited photos to put each of the first-round picks in a 49ers uniform. Now that they’re in the building, they got to put on the real thing. The team’s official Twitter account posted photos of defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in their home red jerseys.

Kinlaw was the No. 14 overall selection in this year’s draft. Aiyuk went No. 25 when the 49ers traded up six spots from No. 31 to get him.
There weren’t any surprises with the numbers. Kinlaw wore 99 for his final two seasons at South Carolina. Aiyuk wore No. 2 in college, but chose 11 for the NFL. Chances are they won’t be among those changing their numbers once rosters are cut down.
Cancelled preseason games mean we won’t see the rookies in uniform for games until the season opener on Sept. 13. The 49ers will open at home in their red jerseys against the Arizona Cardinals.
