If the Miami Heat are going to even the NBA Finals series against the Los Angeles Lakers in Friday night’s Game 2, they will likely have to do it without two of their three best players. On Thursday morning, the Heat announced that starting point guard Goran Dragic and All-Star center Bam Adebayo are both considered doubtful to play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers.
Dragic suffered a torn plantar in his left foot and Adebayo initially left with a shoulder injury but an MRI determined he has suffered a neck strain. Jimmy Butler, who turned his ankle but returned to Game 1, is likely to play in Game 2.
With Dragic out, Erik Spoelstra will likely go with Kendrick Nunn in the starting lineup. Nunn scored 18 points off the bench in Game 1 and started 67 games for the Heat this season. The other option is inserting Tyler Herro into the starting lineup. As for Adebayo, replacing him will be a lot more difficult, with either Kelly Olynyk or Meyers Leonard getting more minutes as Miami will likely go at least one game in the series without their star center.
