Final game grades, report card for Oklahoma-Iowa State

Oklahoma about suffered an epic collapse against Iowa State. Here are the final game grades, report card for Saturday’s game.

NOSE TACKLE — B-

Neville Gallimore — B-
Marquise Overton — B
Dillon Faamatau — N/A

The lack in havoc plays from Neville Gallimore after the Texas game is a major concern. Best thing is? Gallimore is going up against one of the worst offensive lines in the Big 12 this week.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE — B-

LaRon Stokes — B
Jalen Redmond — C
Kenneth Mann — N/A

Laron Stokes is as steady as it comes. Jalen Redmond tapering off as the season has gone on has been a weird sight.

DEFENSIVE END — B

Ronnie Perkins — B
Marcus Stripling — C+

Ronnie Perkins flashed and was one of the more active players for Alex Grinch.

RUSH — C-

Nik Bonitto — C-
David Ugwoegbu — C

Lack of production here is a major concern moving forward.

WILL — D+

DaShaun White — D+

Things looked to be heading in a good direction, but maybe it’s time to rotate here once again to find a steadying force to counter offense’s taking Kenneth Murray out of the game.

MIKE — C

Kenneth Murray — C

Where has the first seven games Kenneth Murray gone? I wish I had more analysis for you, but offense’s are scheming to take him out of the game and he, nor Alex Grinch, have had a counter for it.

CORNER — C-

Tre Brown — C
Parnell Motley — C+
Jaden Davis — D

Jaden Davis is getting his realization of how hard it is to be a defensive back in this conference. Parnell Motley was pretty good, but Tre Brown was nowhere to be found.

May be grading a little hard here, but just didn’t get the sense this group played great.

NICKELBACK — B+

Brendan Radley-Hiles — B+

This was Bookie’s best game in an Oklahoma uniform. Was in position where he needed to be and when he needed to be there. Made impact plays in the run game and held his own in coverage against a future NFL tight end in Charlie Kolar. A really dumb unsportsmanlike penalty cost him an A.

SAFETY — D-

Pat Fields — F
Delarrin Turner-Yell — D
Justin Broiles — C-

This is the worst an Oklahoma safety group has played in ___? I mean, missed tackles. Lack of filling running lanes. Bad in coverage. Bad angles. This is what Alex Grinch was worried about and it was proven true against Iowa State.

DEFENSE — 74

For the most part, these grades show an average defensive performance. Not bad beside safety play, but not horrible.
