It’s wild that the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake came out over two years ago. Since then, everyone has eagerly awaited the second installment, and details might not be far off now.
As reported by RPG Site, Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura hinted during a recent live stream that we might learn more in June.
“Next month, we’re planning to publish information related to Final Fantasy 7‘s 25th anniversary,” Nomura said. “I wonder how far I’m allowed to share about it [right now].”
Yes, the original Final Fantasy 7 is turning 25 soon. Further proof that time is fake.
Now it’s worth keeping in mind that Nomura could be alluding two one of several Final Fantasy 7 projects, including the mobile spinoff The First Soldier, but fingers crossed it’s regarding the remake. Since January, Square Enix has been teasing a potential reveal of Part 2, so the timeframe certainly lines up.

It’s worth keeping in mind that Square Enix is also getting ready for Final Fantasy 16‘s hype cycle, with producer Naoki Yoshida claiming the next trailer is coming soon. Square Enix probably doesn’t want the two games competing with each other for attention, so we’ll just have to see how that all pans out.
