Jon Field, whose history in IMSA racing goes back more than two decades, will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the LMP2 category with Inter Europol Competition. He’ll be partnered for the full season by Frenchman Tom Dillman, who took the LMP2 title with Nick Boulle in 2024, with Bijoy Garg joining for the endurance races.

Le Mans winner Inter Europol has set up it sets up its own U.S. team in Indianapolis after partnering with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports in its initial foray into North American sportscar racing for 2024. The Polish squad aims to defend its 2024 LMP2 championship with the No. 43 ORECA LMP2 07.

Field, who recently tested with Inter Europol, has a wealth of experience. The American driver has competed in IMSA racing since the late 1990s, compiling 14 race wins. Among his multiple highlights are the 2002 American Le Mans Series title in the LMP675 class, second place in the 1000KM Le Lans (2003), and more recently, third position in the 2022 Radical World Finals.

“I’m thrilled to be back racing in the IMSA championship once again – although it’s changed a bit since I last raced in the series,” Field said. “I am pleased to be racing with Inter Europol Competition, too. They have a strong pedigree in LMP2 racing, so I feel I am in good hands with them and my co-drivers. Joining the team off the back of their IMSA LMP2 championship win last season, I feel we have a good package to go for that championship win once again. I can’t wait to get started at Daytona.”

Dillman joined Inter Europol Competition a year ago, and with Kuba Smiechowski and Nick Boulle, proved consistent and fast in this year’s championship. Finishing every round and qualifying in the top four each time, the team clinched the LMP2 title at the season finale at Motul Petit Le Mans.

“Together, with the team, we discovered the IMSA series and its various nuances last season, and we can start in Daytona with a great deal more knowledge than last year. With new teammates, the goal remains the same; to win a second championship!” Dillmann said.

Garg initially took the single-seater route in the U.S. before moving to IMSA and the European Le Mans Series in 2023 and 2024, respectively. He claimed the 2023 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge title in LMP3 and won the 2024 LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“I’m excited to join Inter Europol Competition for the 2025 IMSA season,” Garg said. “The team won the championship last year and has been competitive in everything they’ve raced in. With a year of experience in the LMP2 for me, I’m confident we can challenge for wins and championships this year and continue the team’s great run of success.”

Portuguese racer Antonio Felix da Costa, who had several outings with Hertz Team Jota in 2023 in addition to competing in Formula E for Porsche, will complete the driver lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona on Jan. 23-26.
