Field goal saves BYU undefeated record after penalty keeps last drive alive

A penalty flag saves the drive and BYU goes on to kick a game-winning field goal

Holy moly.

BYU’s undefeated season appeared to be over. A failed fourth-down play in the final minutes against Utah. But a penalty flag saved the Cougars.

Will Ferrin kicked a 44-yard field goal with four seconds left to give BYU a 22-21 victory over Utah in the Holy War on Saturday.

The Cougars’ final drive was saved by a defensive holding penalty in the secondary on a fourth-down play.

The final drive was 11 plays for 65 yards over 1:53.

The Cougars are 9-0 and  have games left versus Kansas, at Arizona State and versus Houston..
