Feelin’ lucky: Auburn flips four-star QB Deuce Knight from Notre Dame

Auburn finally gets its quarterback for the 2025 cycle in Deuce Knight.

Auburn fans are excited on Wednesday night as four-star quarterback [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] announces his commitment to [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Auburn Tigers, flipping from Notre Dame.

Knight, who had been committed to Notre Dame for over a year, flipped his decision to Auburn after flirting with the Tigers by visiting Auburn for three of the Tigers’ first five games, most recently taking his official visit to Auburn on Sept. 28 for the Tigers SEC game vs. Oklahoma.

Following his announcement, Knight spoke with Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live to share his reasoning for switching sides to Auburn. He says that the potential of being a program-changing player enticed his decision.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze, he thinks we can both do some special things with the offense,” Knight said. “We are both Mississippi boys. He says to come over to Alabama and take over college football.”

Knight is a four-star rated quarterback from George County High School (Mississippi). He ranks as high as No. 2 nationally among 2025 quarterbacks and is the No. 2 overall recruit from the cycle from Mississippi according to On3, 247Sports, and ESPN. By adding Knight to their 2025 haul, Auburn football’s 2025 class now ranks No. 4 by On3’s standards and No. 3 in 247Sports recruiting rankings.
