FCS All-American punter Aidan Laros transfers to Kentucky football

Kentucky football has added FCS transfer kicker and punter Aidan Laros.

After a little bit of bad news this week from a player decommitting, Kentucky football got some good news. Kicker and punter Aidan Laros is transferring to the Wildcats for next season.

Laros began his college football experience with Charlotte in 2020. He played there until last year, when he transferred to the University of Tennessee-Martin.

In 2023, Laros handed both kicking and punting duties. He made 43 of his 45 extra point attempts and 10 of his 16 field goals. As a punter he posted an average of 47.5 yards per punt and a net of 41.5 yards. For his efforts, he was named FCS Punter of the Year and was named a first-team All-American.

Kentucky has a kicker in veteran Alex Raynor, so Laros will likely be the team’s punter only. However, that’s something that he does very well.

Kickers and punters aren’t always the most exciting position, but it’s noticeable when teams don’t have a good one. With the addition of Laros at punter, the Wildcats should have solid players at both spots.
