Fantasy football waiver wire targets after Week 14: Raiders RB could be valuable

Some names to consider off waivers ahead of Week 15.

If you’re reading this, it’s possible you’ve either made it to the first (with four teams qualifying) or second round of your fantasy football playoffs.

If so, congratulations!

Even if you’re attempting to win in the consolation rounds or are hunting for possible keepers, this is where we give you weekly help on the fantasy waiver wire — some names to consider as backups to give you some depth to help in case of injury on your roster, or even some players you’d think about starting in deep leagues.

Here are seven players to target on the waver wire after Week 14.

7. QB Drew Lock, Denver Broncos

Desperate for a quarterback? How about the rookie who had 309 yards and three touchdowns against the Texans? He gets to play the Chiefs and Lions the rest of the way, which could be good matchups.

6. RB Adrian Peterson, Washington Redskins

Derrius Guice might miss the rest of the year, so the Skins could hand the ball off to the future Hall of Famer a bunch in the next couple of weeks.

5. TE Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers

He’s a favorite of fantasy football Twitter, a 6-foot-4 tight end who hasn’t gotten enough opportunities with Greg Olsen in front of him. But with Olsen out in Week 14, he had 10 targets, catching five of them including a touchdown.

4. Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Bucccaneers

If Mike Evans is out, someone else besides Chris Godwin has to catch all those Jameis Winston passes. He might get a lot of volume against the Lions and Texans.

3. WR Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears

Dude has had four straight solid weeks including a touchdown against the Cowboys.

2. WR. A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans

Week 14: five catches, 153 yards, two touchdowns. That’s after a Week 12 of four receptions, 135 yards and a score. He can be a bit volatile, but I suspect the Titans will throw a lot against the Texans and Saints.

1. RB DeAndre Washington, Oakland Raiders

He had 14 carries to Jalen Richard’s seven and scored while also adding six catches for 43 yards. If you’re a Josh Jacobs owner, he’s the RB to target if Jacobs misses more time with a shoulder injury.
