The Washington Football Team fell to 2-6 on the season after a 17-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 8.
It was the latest ugly loss in a season full of ugly losses. For the second straight week, Washington outgained its opponent, yet came up short in the red zone.
Defensively, Washington slowly continues to improve, especially with Landon Collins now at linebacker. Collins made several big plays on Sunday, including a sack of Teddy Bridgewater. And, with cornerback William Jackson III out, the secondary hasn’t been nearly as bad.
As with any other Sunday afternoon during the NFL season, Twitter was a wild place to be during and after Washington’s loss to the Broncos. Here are some of the top Twitter reactions from the WFT’s latest loss.
Scott Turner knows he can turn pass page 1 off the playbook right ??

The going for it on 4th & short every week is costing them points. Scott Turner struggles with short yardage must-have plays. It made sense against Mahomes/Rodgers. Not against Teddy and this Denver offense.

Scott Turner runs the same 5 yard total 1st and 2nd down play set to set us up in constant 3rd downs the offense isn’t good enough to convert. He absolutely sucks

Taylor Heinicke for the win pic.twitter.com/9rztw8lmgg

Taylor Heinicke is a backup quarterback. Chris Blewitt is a UPS worker. And this season is over.

Antonio Gibson is like a Hershey bar, really good but once you finish it, you’re left telling yourself that’s it?

Today I saw Jack Del Rio drop Chase Young into coverage and I am once again asking Washington to #FireJackDelRio. #WashingtonFootball #WASvsDEN

Chase Young looks lost this year, we should see if we can get anything of value for him
— Ron Evans (@ronevans534) November 1, 2021
Chase Young is booooooty.

Chase young is legit clowney 2.0

I thought Chase Young was going to be a superstar.
The dude has 1.5 sacks in 8 games. The draft really is a crap shoot
— Fat White Goodman (@ghostoffatwhite) November 1, 2021
Another piss poor game for Chase Young….if you own his jersey you should exchange it (I’ve done it with both of mine LOL)

I think, on reflection, that was one of the most boring games I’ve witnessed in my 9 years on the beat.
Not worst. Those are the blowouts. But just completely devoid of interesting things.

The people I feel for the most are those of you still watching this. Who have been watching this show for two decades.
There's no light at the end of the tunnel right now. But when there is, I'll be really happy for you all.

Since Washington signed Chris Blewitt to handle kicking duties, he's had 3 of his 5 field goal attempts blocked.
That seems…improbable.
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) October 31, 2021
Holy shit what were they thinking signing Blewitt
— WASHINGTON FOOTBALL (@HogsHaven) October 31, 2021
Chris Blewitt has another FG blocked. Second today and third in two games. Somehow it feels worse.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) October 31, 2021
Chris Blewitt having 60% of his career field goal’s blocked is a impressive stat. Probably never be duplicated
