Legendary news broadcaster Larry King passed away on Saturday at 87 years old. His cause of death has not yet been announced.
King spent 63 years in media across different platforms from radio to television and even digital media. He became a household name for a lot of people. He was a legitimately well-liked and, most importantly, trusted source of news for people.
Most notably he spent 25 years hosting CNN’s “Larry King Live” where he hosted some of the most candid interviews you’ll see with some of the biggest stars of our time.
He interviewed well over 60,000 subjects throughout his illustrious career and promised to never retire — even after his run on cable news ended in 2010. He moved from CNN to Hulu’s Ora TV to continue his work.
King’s death was announced via his Twitter account on Saturday morning.

RIP to radio/TV/digital news legend @kingsthings. It was an honor to watch you do your thing, both on @CNN and in person. My Dad always asked me “Did you see who Larry King talked to last night?” Would’ve blown his mind to know that, one day, it would be his son. Thanks for that. pic.twitter.com/OTQrEar3c4

RIP Larry King. Hearing that he had done over 50,000 interviews is wild. As an interviewer I can’t even make sense of that. 🤯
