Fall Ball Takeaways: Phil Knight in the building for practice No. 17 of Ducks’ fall camp

Phil Knight was seen walking into Oregon’s practice on Wednesday as the Ducks’s fall camp continues. That and other takeaways from Practice No. 17:

When asked after the last scrimmage of fall camp over the weekend about what the plan was for this week of practice, Oregon Ducks’ head coach Dan Lanning remarked that there was still a lot of work that needed to be done focusing on their own team, rather than any opponent.

“We’re going to keep focusing on us right now,” Lanning said.

That was made clear on Wednesday as the Ducks drilled hard their special teams work and ball security drills. As media members were walking out of practice, Phil Knight, the co-founder of Nike and a mega-booster to the university was seen walking into the practice fields to watch the action.

In the portion of practice that was open to media members, nothing new came of the sessions. There’s a chance that they delved into Georgia Bulldogs gameplans once we left, but if we are to believe the coaching staff, there’s more work to be done before that can come.
