The Atlanta Falcons interviewed arguably the greatest head coach in NFL history twice over the past week and now the team is set to interview the most sought-after coordinator from this year’s coaching cycle.
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator/play-caller Ben Johnson is set to do a virtual interview before Sunday’s game between the Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Before their playoff game on Sunday, both #Lions coordinators will be busy:
— OC Ben Johnson has interviews with the #Falcons, #Seahawks, and #Chargers for their HC jobs.
— DC Aaron Glenn has interviews with the #Commanders and #Chargers for their HC jobs.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 20, 2024
Johnson has excelled calling Detroit’s offense over the last two seasons. In 2023, the Lions finished third in total yards and fifth in points scored while securing their first divison title since 1993.
The Falcons have other interviews scheduled over the next week with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.
