Falcons safety Jessie Bates continues to earn his paycheck as a member of Atlanta’s secondary. While trailing the Detroit Lions in the third quarter of Week 3, Bates recorded his third interception of the season against Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Without Bates’ two interceptions in Week 1, the Falcons probably wouldn’t have defeated the Panthers. Atlanta failed to do anything with the ball and the team now trails Detroit, 20-3, in the fourth quarter.
