The Atlanta Falcons are getting crushed so badly by the Seattle Seahawks that they have replaced starting quarterback Kirk Cousins with rookie Michael Penix Jr. in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game.
It’s Penix’s first NFL regular-season action since the team selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Washington. Thus far, the rookie has completed his only pass attempt for 14 yards.
Cousins turned the ball over three times on Sunday, throwing two interceptions and fumbling on a pass attempt that was recovered by the Seahawks for a touchdown.
