Falcons place LB Troy Andersen on injured reserve

The Falcons have placed linebacker Troy Andersen on the injured reserve list and signed OT Storm Norton to the 53-man roster

The Atlanta Falcons have officially placed Troy Andersen on the injured reserve list, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. The second-year linebacker suffered a shoulder injury late in the Falcons’ Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Taking Andersen’s place on the 53-man roster is offensive lineman Storm Norton, whom Atlanta signed off the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.

The Falcons will look to reserve linebacker Nate Landman to step in Andersen’s absence. In Week 3, Landman finished the game as the team’s highest-graded player, according to Pro Football Focus.

Norton, 29, spent the last three seasons with the Chargers, starting 15 games in 2021. The veteran swing tackle adds some much-needed depth to Atlanta’s offensive line.
