The Atlanta Falcons addressed their two biggest needs on the opening day of free agency, signing quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Darnell Mooney. However, don’t be surprised if the Falcons add to one or both of these positions when the 2024 NFL draft rolls around.
The team is currently hosting a local pro day at its training facility in Flowery Branch and some of the top prospects made the trip. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Falcons will spend some extra time with Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey on pre-draft visit.
#Georgia WR Ladd McConkey is visiting with the #Falcons today, after visiting with the #Browns recently, source said. Atlanta is one of 14 teams to do in-person work on the versatile WR. McConkey is an intriguing late 1st, early 2nd option.

McConkey would be a great fit in the second round if he’s still available at pick No. 43. The Georgia wideout is slightly undersized. Still, he’s a terrific route-runner and does everything fairly well. Pro Football Focus currently lists McConkey as the No. 33 prospect on their big board.
The Falcons are also expected to meet with Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell before the 2024 NFL draft. Make sure to check out our latest NFL Wire Network two-round mock draft.
