On Wednesday, the Falcons and Dolphins held their first joint practices in Miami, Florida. The two teams face off for their second preseason game this Saturday night, and judging by the highlights coming out of practice, we should see a better version of Atlanta’s offense this time around.
In this first clip, rookie tight end Kyle Pitts is matched up against cornerback Justin Coleman but is still able to create separation on a shallow corner route and haul in the reception.

The more high-profile matchup is the one between Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley and Dolphins All-Pro cornerback Xavien Howard. In 2020, Howard was a first-team All-Pro and named to the second team in 2018. Both years he led the NFL in interceptions. Up to this point, Howard is the biggest competition Ridley has faced in training camp.
Watch as Ridley gets behind Howard for the catch below, as shared by the team’s Twitter account.
