Falcons injury report: Updates on Justin Simmons, Troy Andersen

Falcons Week 8 injury report: Safety Justin Simmons DOUBTFUL vs. Buccaneers…

The Atlanta Falcons have wrapped up another week of practice ahead of this Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Friday afternoon, the team released its final injury reports with game designations for Week 8.

While the Falcons are in decent shape, there was one notable injury on Friday’s practice report. Safety Justin Simmons is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game due to a hamstring injury.

Simmons was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but did not participate on Friday. If he can’t play, the team will look to Richie Grant to start next to Jessie Bates. Cornerback Antonio Hamilton (back) and center Ryan Neuzil (knee) are questionable for Week 8.

Linebacker Troy Andersen will miss his fourth straight game due to a knee injury. Andersen hasn’t played since winning NFC Defensive Player of the Week after the team’s Week 4 win over the Saints.
