We still don’t know whether or not the Atlanta Falcons are any good, but they sure have been entertaining through the first four weeks of the 2024 NFL season. Sunday’s 26-24 win over the New Orleans Saints was competitive until the final seconds.
The Falcons were trailing by one point in the final minute when wide receiver Darnell Mooney drew a pass interference penalty that set up Younghoe Koo’s game-winning field goal. Atlanta didn’t score an offensive touchdown, but the defense scored a pick-six and the special teams recovered a muffed punt for a touchdown.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins was inefficient, the running game was ineffective and Kyle Pitts was held without a single catch. The Falcons clearly didn’t play their best game but still came up victorious against their most hated rivals.

In Week 5, the Falcons have another division matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1). It will be Atlanta’s third prime-time game of the season. Kickoff is at 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
